The event brings together business owners, yoga instructors, and participants looking to create better versions of themselves. The event is for all ages & fitness levels. Event also invites vendors, and artists to share their passions.

You learn a lot about yourself by practicing yoga - mentally, physically, spiritually. My classes are designed to be both accessible and challenging. I'm honored to be allowed to lead you and I look forward to meeting you on your mat.

Meet the Teacher: Kerry Rupe

I was born with scoliosis and had multiple surgeries resulting in fusions. I was told I'd have many limitations in my life - however, I discovered the amazing practice of Yoga! I never imagined having the abilities that I have now. I credit that to my combination of practice in the 26 & 2 and Vinyasa. It truly has changed my life! Not just physically but emotionally and spiritually. So come on in, be present on your mat, and discover the benefits for yourself! I'd be honored to guide you.

Meet the Teacher: Brittany Edwards @forrealjustbe

"Hi everyone,

I’m Brittany! I have been practicing Yoga for almost 7 years now and to say it has changed my life is an understatement. After discovering my practice life just got better, and I started developing into a better version of me.

I knew since my first class that I just found my “thing” and that I was home. I knew I would teach some day, because of my love for the practice and how it helped me connect to myself and others.

I discovered my calling. I completed my 200 Hour Training at Peace of Mind Yoga in Sugarloaf PA in November of 2020, and become a Registered Yoga Teacher with Yoga Alliance.

In addition to my personal practice I am blessed to have the opportunity to teach at various local studios, as well as online!

My classes are for everyBODY and are meant to empower and uplift your spirit! I believe that yoga is an investment in yourself, and when you invest in yourself you can invest in others, but it starts with you! Much love! 🙏"

Meet the Teacher: Askari Moore

Meet the Teacher: Cameron Chesmak

"Owner and Creator of Sunnie Vibes Studio, lover of all things spiritual and athletic, Pittsburgh-native Cameron Lee, found herself in a pool of pain and despair. This suffering was not limited to the physical essence, however mentally as well. After years of enduring routine weightlifting and cardio exercise, Cameron knew it was time to sit with her thoughts instead of running from them. To say her destiny was met the first time she stepped inside that yoga studio in 2015 would be an understatement. The feeling of complete contentment and tranquility was overwhelming as she embraced the peace and mind-body connection yoga offered her. Picasso once said “the meaning of life is to find your gift, while the purpose of life is to give it away.” Cameron was fortunate enough to discover her gift and feels confident her purpose entails sharing it with others.

Cameron completed her 200YTT in 2019 at the Om Lounge in East Liberty. In her free time, you can find Cam walking with her daughter, Sunnie and dog, Myles at the park, checking out the graphic tees at target, soaking up the sunshine at the beach, or researching basically anything related to health and spirituality. In Cam's class, you can expect a peaceful flow that allows an inner connection with your breath as you unwind from life’s daily stressors outside of the studio. Come get high on your own supply (breath) with Cam and leave all of the weight and worries you’re carrying on your mat."

Meet the Teacher: Danyell Nicole Peris

Danyell Peris, E-RYT200, RYT500, YACEP – Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Provider

Hi, my name is Danyell- I’m a dog mom of 2 rescues, I’m a Hospital/ SNF Case Manager/ DC Planner, avid Hiker, fitness enthusiast - and a HUGE Star Wars & Vikings Fan, if you’ve been in a class of mine, you’ve heard a Vikings or a Star Wars reference or two! “The Force is Strong!” Yoga is one of my true passions - learning, teaching & talking about yoga- sharing what I’ve learned and being open enough to know that I always have room to grown and learn more. Both on and off of the yoga mat. I’ve been a yoga instructor since 2017. My goal as an instructor, a guide & a forever student is to share and to guide with a sense of strength and compassion- to inspire and to offer students a space to at ease and grace with themselves- to find contentment, to learn what it means to be comfortable with discomfort. And to be strong and in control. – learn when to let go & how to have devotion and dedication. Sharing this I pray this beautiful and vast practice will touch the lives of my students as it did mine. Yoga is journey – every time we step on the mat, we are different, our practice is different – so learning to adapt and accept must be part of that, this is a critical part of life, on and off the mat, it strengthens us both mentally and physically. I am a firm believer that the body craves movement, and the mind craves stillness, our bodies are magnificent and we are made to move, we are all stronger than we think! And we are here to create music with our motions, to celebrate life and love and dance like no one is watching all of the time!

Sharing this is a gift- it’s like sharing a piece of the magical universe and watching the stars light up! I can’t wait to practice with you!

Meet the Teacher: April Bland

"Yoga has deeply affected my life in so many ways. Yoga has become more than a practice, it’s a way of living for me now. A way of life that helps to emphasize what is most important to me; humility, grace, kindness, honoring myself & my body- instilling hope, change, and inviting stillness. Yoga keeps me grounded through the hard times, rejoices with me in the good and heals me in the saddest times. Its like a friend you can always count on. After commiting to a practice and utilizing yoga as a tool in my own quest towards wellness and self-discovery in 2012- I decided to pursue a 200hr teacher training  so that I could share the physical, mental, and emotional benefits of this grounding practice with my community.

I was so grateful for the meaningful connections that were made and had such a thirst for knowledge; I attended multiple continuing education workshops while teaching & completing an additional 300Hr teacher training.

It was within that 300hr teacher training that I was drawn deeper into my Meditation practice and pursued a certification in Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy to help support individuals suffering from anxiety & depression.

I have had the distinct pleasure of creating and leading a teacher training program at Ahimsa Wellness Studio while helping to guide others on their journeys toward yoga teacher certifications as an adjunct instructor for West End Yoga.My mission through the studio is to teach, support and inspire beginners and more experienced practitioners within a healthy, safe environment to not only nourish the body but the mind & spirit as well.

Each and every class is thoughtfully designed to meet you exactly where you are without judgement or expectation.

Meet the instuctor: Ali Reina

My yoga journey first began in 2014 when I took a yoga class  to help prepare my body physically for a half marathon. I soon realized that yoga offered more than just physical benefits. Yoga provided me the mind-body-soul connection that alleviated any worries and anxieties that I brought to the mat. It amazed me at how present and mindful I could be during a yoga practice.

A chronic health diagnosis a year later limited me physically as I was unable to exercise in the same way. Level 1 and gentle yoga classes were the only types of exercise that my body could endure. The use of props and modifications of traditional poses provided me the physical support I needed to reap the same mental and emotional benefits from yoga. For me, yoga became a critical part of my healing journey and lifestyle change.

A reading specialist for 11 years, I decided to follow a new path in teaching others about the mind-body connection yoga has to offer. My specialties include a Yoga 101 Beginners Workshop as well as Yoga Nidra. In any offering, I hope to instill patience, creativity, and empathy into my yoga instruction. By providing a variety of  differentiation and support in her classes, it is my hope to individualize my instruction to make yoga accessible for all participants.

Meet the Teacher: Sabrina Ursaner

I've been in the wellness industry for about a decade teaching various fitness, health, and mindfulness classes. I was a corporate lawyer in NYC "living the rat race dream" as some might say, at the top of my game, making tons of money, appeared to "have it all" - and I realized what is most important in life are the experiences and memories and who we choose to surround ourselves with, While I loved my corporate job, I didn't want to wake up one day in 50 years and basically just have a bunch of awards and money - life is SO much more than that, and it goes by in the blink of an eye. I quit my job and moved to a cabin in the woods with my little dog, where we hike and enjoy nature and it's all about the simple things in life, not the "stuff."  My biggest joy is helping people let go of whatever may be weighing them down to find their own wings and soar. I hold certifications from ACE, AFAA, NASM, 200hr RYT, 200hr Kundalini RYT, CMT (certified meditation teacher), Reiki practitioner, and various other certs, and I truly love helping people find their joy.

Meet the Teacher: Tara Grossi

"As a Medium, Healer, and Spiritual Counselor for over 24 years, I take great pleasure and pride in assisting people with practical guidance and tools for daily life - answering spiritual questions, communicating with loved ones who have passed on, and creating comfort from grief and peace of mind. I believe "gifts from the Spirit", such as mediumship and intuition are God-given tools for healing and inspiration available to all of us.

As a child I had dreams that would come true and I would often see spirits. In the late 1990's, I decided to develop my gift further and I've been guiding others ever since. As a medium and intuitive communicator, I connect with energies in different dimensions. I am able to receive images and messages from those who have crossed over and convey them to my clients here in the physical."

Meet the Teacher: Cookie Connolly

I'm originally from Boston where I started my journey of the love of movement as a classical dancer and fitness professional. It's also where I met a great guy from PA. We married (36 years ago) and moved to his hometown at Newton Lake, Carbondale PA for 16 years raising a family (2 great girls and 2 great dogs) while I started a career in fitness. We moved to Lewisburg PA 20 years ago and in 2018 I took a deep dive into the world of yoga which lead me to become a yoga therapist (C-IAYT), an E-RYT 200, a YACEP and owning my own wellness and yoga business. Although I teach many forms of yoga, its therapeutic yoga I most enjoy specializing in with an aging population that deal with the effects of physical, emotional and mental imbalances. Educating with a 'whole person' approach to healing and seeing people transform toward greater health and wellness is my dharma. Additionally, I love my family, nature bathing, rowing on the Susquehanna, taking long bike rides, walking our 15 yo dog, Lucy and eating chocolate. Best news yet... I became a grandmother on 3/8 to a beautiful baby girl named Arlo!

Meet the Teacher: Madison Heaton

I initially turned to yoga during high school as a way to stay active after a knee injury ended my ballet career. Within mere months of practicing, I enrolled in a 200-hour RYT and have now been teaching for 5 years. I've taught at Nearme Yoga, Powerhouse Fitness & Yoga, the University of Scranton, and children's summer camps and love furthering my own practice, taking traditional, aerial, and even stand-up paddleboard yoga classes!

It is my sincere hope that I can share the benefits and gifts of this practice with others who may also be feeling overwhelmed by life’s challenges. In addition to yoga, I love nature and being outdoors, all types of crafting, fussing over my pets, the Sunday crossword, traveling, and making everything into an adventure and/or history lesson.

Meet the Teacher: Cameron Chesmak

Owner and Creator of Sunnie Vibes Studio, lover of all things spiritual and athletic, Pittsburgh-native Cameron Lee, found herself in a pool of pain and despair.

Meet the Teacher: Samantha Oeser

I took my  first first yoga teacher training course (200hr), in Colorado in 2017. When I decided to take the course, it was to deepen my own practice, 6 months later the universe brought my energy into teaching. In November of 2019 I opened my own yoga studio - Fitology 360 Health & Wellness Studio, which unfortunately due to COVID was shut down early in 2020. I  currently teach at a fitness studio and travels to teach - spreading yogic happiness wherever I go.  I was inspired by a group of women I worked with to teach.

Classes: "Sequences of Balance"

Meet the Teacher: Colleen LaGasse

Colleen is a former professional competitive bodybuilder with an extensive background in fitness. A NASM certified personal trainer and group fitness instructor, Colleen has continually sought out the opportunity to share her passion for fitness with others.

In 2013, the physical stress of years in the gym brought Colleen to seek out something to heal her body and regain some flexibility and mobility lost through years of heavy weight training.

It was at that point that she discovered yoga and immediately fell in love with it. The physicality of the practice that initially enticed her opened the door for the spirituality and mental balance that the practice provided and her passion grew, as did her desire to share this passion with others.

This drove her to seek her 200 RYT in 2015 and later on earning her E-RYT 500 in 2019.

Additionally, Colleen is certified in Aerial Yoga, Y12SR (yoga for 12 step recovery), Yin Yoga, TRX for Yoga, Yoga Shred (inspired by Sadie Nardini), meditation and Gravity Yoga.

In September 2022, Colleen felt called to open her own space, a space which would help foster community and be a safe and inclusive space for all. This was the foundation on which Roots Yoga and Fitness was built. Just as the logo implies, the space was built out of love; love of yoga, love of community, and love of sharing all of the gifts that yoga has to offer. “Growth Starts Here” applies not only to our growth physically, mentally and spiritually, but our growth as a community as well. You can find Colleen teaching a variety of classes throughout the week and she is available for private and semi-private instruction, as well as personal training sessions."

Meet the Teacher: Jay Figard

I am 54 years old. At the age of 40 I had my first heart attack. I had over a 90% blockage in the left anterior descending artery, which is commonly referred to as the Widow Maker, and somehow survived! I followed that up by having another heart attack at the age of 42. Couple that with being a Type 1 diabetic and having chronic back pain for over 20 years and finding the right exercise for me was more of a workout then actually working out it seemed! I found DDPY about 4 years ago. Since that time, I have used it to almost fully eliminate my back pain. And, combined with some moderate diet changes, have used it to lose 35lbs and drop my A1C to 5.9!
